Timothy Meyer, Incumbent, Bayview
KEC Member: 15 Years
Nominated By Nominating Committee
I am a retired electrical engineer seeking re-election to the District 1 director position. My educational background includes a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Oklahoma and a post-graduate degree from Digital Corporation’s Artificial Intelligence Fellowship program in Boston. My work experience comes primarily from three companies: Rockwell Collins in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where I designed and was a project manager for commercial aviation cockpit instrumentation; Home Integrated Technologies in Boise, where I was the V.P. of engineering, designing and building home utility monitoring and control systems; and the H.J. Heinz Company, where for my last 16 years I was the principal engineer responsible for control systems in the Heinz North America factories. I am a licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Idaho.
My experience includes 30 years of managing projects where I controlled the financing, schedule, and was accountable for the results. The last 16 years before retirement, as principal engineer, much of my time was spent developing policies and procedures, addressing government regulations, and building consensus for technological advancement in the Heinz factories. Now that I have retired, I have the time to commit to fulfilling the duties of a director, staying current on issues facing KEC, and continuing director educational courses.
I am thankful for the opportunity I have had over the last three years to serve as a director and have obtained NRECA’s Credentialed Director Certification. I currently serve as the board’s vice chair and as chair of the directors’ budget committee. KEC is one of the best electric cooperatives in the nation and I would like to continue to serve as director in our changing and sometimes challenging environment.
My wife, Susan, and I were born and raised in the Northwest, have been married for over 40 years, and have four children, seven granddaughters and one grandson.
