Terry LaLiberte, Rathdrum
KEC Member: 39 Years
Nominated By Nominating Committee
I am a candidate for the District 1 position on our board of directors. I served on our board of directors from 2010 until the election in 2018. I have completed the Certified Cooperative Director’s certification, the Board Leadership Certification and the Director’s Gold Certification for director’s education. I have served on other boards and committees including prior experience with KEC, having served on the Nominating Committee and Credentials and Elections Committee. I previously chaired a board of directors, which was a national, non-profit, member-oriented organization of approximately 27,000 members similar to our cooperative. I retired as a Chief of Police, after 37 years in law enforcement with 32 years in various leadership positions. During that time, I earned my Master of Business Administration. My career in law enforcement gave me experience with boards, commissions, government agencies, budgets, policies and procedures and bylaws as well as personnel issues. I chair the 9-1-1 Advisory Board for the Kootenai County Sheriff and I am a Past President of the Lakeland Sunrise Rotary Club.
I have been a KEC member since 1988. It is the responsibility of a board member to make sure that board decisions are in the best interests of all of our members. The board works continually to improve our reliability and the safety of our personnel while setting the policies for the Cooperative.
As a candidate for the board of directors, I ask for your vote to return me to the board of directors to represent you, members of our cooperative. It was an honor to serve you and I look forward to the opportunity to represent you again. Please join other co-op members voting for me and vote for me also. Thank you.
