I have been a director for KEC since 2010 and I am running as your representative for District 4. I graduated from Utah State University in 1972 with a B.S. in Civil Engineering and subsequently in 1975 received my Masters of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering. I became a registered Professional Civil Engineer in 1976. I retired as Engineering Manager from the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality after 31 years. In this role I had the opportunity to work with almost every city and water and sewer association in the KEC service area, helping them develop safe and reliable water and wastewater systems. This involved oversight of all aspects of construction from permitting, planning and design through start up. That working experience gives me good insight into the challenges our urban and rural areas face in maintaining affordable, reliable and safe utilities.

Over the past 16 years while serving the cooperative as a director, I have seen firsthand the many challenges facing the power supply industry of the Pacific Northwest and how those challenges can impact our members. These challenges include planning for the rapid load growth our region is experiencing, preserving our access to low-cost hydro power, and protecting the cooperative from cyber risks and wildfires, to name a few. The cooperative and its board have done a great job navigating these challenges and I look forward to continuing to help it do so. While on the KEC board, I completed the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association Credentialed Co-op Director Program, Board Leadership and Gold level of training. Additionally, I have served on the audit, policy, bylaws and expense committees and have served as board secretary for the last ten years.

On a more personal note, my late wife and I were married for 49 years. I have two married daughters and three grandchildren. I love living in North Idaho and enjoy cycling and beekeeping. These last 16 years continue to show me what an honor and responsibility it is to serve as your director, thank you!

I have been a KEC director since 2014 and I am running as your representative for District 3. I possess more than 20 years of experience working in a global business environment across a wide range of industries including transportation, technology, energy and natural resources. I have held senior leadership roles in strategy, finance, information technology and marketing. In the energy sector I was responsible for pricing strategy and policy with GE Energy’s Power and Water Division where I managed annual revenue streams of over $2.1 billion. I have led many large-scale, multi-year technology projects, as well as a variety of major strategic business initiatives.

I am a fourth-generation native of North Idaho, and my great-grandparents were among the charter members of the cooperative. After spending many years living on the east coast, I returned to Idaho permanently in 2008 and currently reside in Coeur d’Alene. In my spare time I enjoy many of Idaho’s outdoor pursuits including hunting elk, fly fishing and skiing. I am an active member of the Inland Northwest technology community.

I hold a BBA in International Business from Boise State University, and a Master of Science degree in Predictive Analytics from Northwestern University.
