Below is a list of applicable fees, depending on the type of service requested. Payments for any applicable fees can be made by cash, check, Visa or Mastercard. $50 area light engineering fee This fee includes the cost to engineer and install the area light utilizing existing KEC infrastructure. $250 non-refundable engineering fee (applied towards the project) This non-refundable fee applies to requests that include but are not limited to low-density new construction which includes subdivision lot sizes greater than one-half acre or lots where transformers have not been installed. This fee also applies to requests for non-residential new construction as well as modifications of an existing service. Once an application is received, the applicant shall meet with a KEC staking technician, if required for the service, within 120 days or they may be required to re-apply and pay a new engineering fee. Why does Kootenai Electric need easements? KEC needs easements from property owners to construct our electric facilities to provide service to members. An easement secures our long-term ability to access the property, operate our facilities, manage vegetation, and make future system improvements in order to keep power flowing to our members.
