2026 Board of Directors Election
The deadline to participate in the 2026 election has passed. Please check back in mid-2026 for details about the 2027 director election.
The KEC Nominating Committee plays a vital role in upholding the integrity of our cooperative’s governance. In accordance with KEC’s bylaws, the committee is responsible for reviewing all qualified applicants and nominating one or more individuals to run for each open director position.
Board Candidate Requirements
To be eligible, candidates must:
- Meet the qualifications, expectations, and code of conduct outlined in:
- Commit a minimum of 60 days per year to board-related activities.
- Be available to attend conferences and director training sessions.
- Demonstrate strong business acumen and a broad understanding of regional and national energy issues.

- District 4 – Currently served by Roger Tinkey

The Nominating Committee retains discretion to nominate or decline to nominate any qualified applicant. KEC’s bylaws govern the election and petition process.

2026 Election Timeline
- December 1, 2025 – Application and petition deadline
- January 27, 2026 – Nominating Committee interviews candidates
- February–March 2026 – KEC staff coordinate with candidates on photos, videos, and bios
- March 24 – April 14, 2026 – Voting open via mail and online
- May 12, 2026 – Annual Meeting
